Week 2: Build a website on Wix

This week we looked at the Wix platform to build websites. Wix has an easy to use drag-and-drop website builder that allows you to create a website in minutes using their AI-powered software or one of the many templates that you can adapt to your business and brand. For those who are technologically minded, you can also use Wix Editor which gives you greater flexibility to fully flex your creative and technological muscles!

Our task this week was to use Wix to build a website. Andrew, our Skills Network tutor, is an avid walker and is part of The Hillside Hoppers community charity walking group. So he tasked us with recreating the charity's website and adding our own personal touch, if we so wished.

Having built a website for my previous business, The Wellbeing Treehouse, on Wix, I felt comfortable with the features and confident that I knew how to navigate my way around the platform to achieve the results I wanted.

Obviously I had forgotten how fixated I can become about everything lining up and looking just so! Needless to say, a website was not created in minutes! But that says more about my pedantic nature, than it does about Wix...

So, whilst I have made a start on The Hillside Hoppers website, it is still very much a work in progress.
